Newborn Session: Baby’s First Christmas

Welcoming a newborn into the world is a momentous occasion filled with joy, love, and a whole lot of adorable moments. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a sweet one-week-old baby girl, and I must say, it was a session filled with warmth, holiday cheer, and the undeniable charm of a newborn.

Our session began with a nice, warm bottle to ensure our little model was content and comfortable. However, a 40-minute car ride can be quite sleepy for a tiny tot, and this little one was ready to party for the first hour of our session. But, oh, how I didn't mind! Her infectious energy allowed me to capture those stunning, wide-eyed moments that are truly priceless.

Mom had chosen a beautiful palette of whites and Christmas reds for the session, and I couldn't have been more excited. The red backdrop added a festive pop of color, setting the perfect tone for some holiday magic.

After the initial excitement, we moved on to a serene white backdrop. With a little patience and a lot of tenderness, I helped the baby drift into a peaceful sleep.

Mom had a special request for a "nakey-bum-up" photo, so it was essential for the baby to be in a deep slumber to pose her just right. Much to my delight, the little rockstar of the day fell into a restful sleep, allowing me to capture all the precious angles and details.

Our session continued with various setups, including a charming box prop and a visit to the Themed Room on Main for some heartwarming Christmas photos.

The lounger chair and baby bed provided the perfect backdrop for capturing the magic of the season.

nd, of course, what's a Christmas session without a quick visit from Santa? The baby girl got to share her wishes with the jolly old man himself, creating a memory that will surely be cherished for years to come.

As the session progressed, we wrapped the little one snugly to keep her comfortable. As she started to get a bit fussy and hungry, a warm embrace in the form of a wrap quickly lulled her back to sleep, capturing that feeling of being in a cozy, protective hug.

While the baby continued her peaceful slumber, I had the opportunity to play with some new Christmas stuffie props. Meanwhile, Mom took a moment to browse our Client Wardrobe and prepare for some special Mommy & Me photos, adding an extra layer of warmth and connection to the session.
